Take a walk up Dumfries High Street, and back in time. Enjoy our themed time travelling traders market, living history, storytelling, tours, food / drink and medieval crafts.
Meet the Bruce family in The Court De Brus and enjoy the live tributes that will be paid from Scottish Tribal Street Music legends Clanadonia, Scots Screiver Susi Briggs & Alan McClure, Dumfries Community Choir, plus lots of medieval themed interactive family entertainment. ..
Medieval the,med dress up is greatly encouraged!

9am-5pm: Medieval Themed Market is open (with stalls in several locations from Burns Statue down to Dumfries Fountain) with walkabout medieval characters / medieval themed family activities / medieval themed food & drink / Medieval crafts / Medieval Weaponry display / Medieval Dancing & Juggling
11am: Medieval Meanders Walking Tour with Dumfries Museum leaves from Greyfriars Church
12noon: Mostly Ghostly Tours begin their pop up talks along the High Street (find them in different locations across the day)
12.30pm: Birthday Proclamation to King Robert the Bruce @ Plainstanes (Court of De Brus) with Medieval Bagpipe introduction.
12.35pm: Greetings & Welcome from The Court De Brus, from Lady Christian De Bruce.
12.40pm: ‘The Flyting of the Red Comyn & King Robert’ interactive performance from Susi Briggs - poet songwriter + author Alan McClure. in their Medieval Rap Battle!
1pm: Dumfries Community Choir
1.15pm: Clanadonia live! Scottish tribal street music legends
2pm: Court De Brus meet & greet / walkabout + photo opps
2.30pm: Sarah Crome Authors Talk @ Greyfriars Church
5pm: Market & activities CLOSE
NB: the market is a time travelling one so has some stalls that are modern equivalents of what would have been being traded in Medieval times in Dumfries, and some are fully authentic heritage wares / or are directly inspired by Medieval times.
