Online Talk: Surgeon, Suffragette & Daughter of Dalton, Dumfries.

Hosted Museums Galleries Scotland and Dumfries Museum, this event for Women’s History Month features four different speakers:

  • Judith Hewitt, Curator of Dumfries Museum

  • Wendy Moore, award winning author of ENDELL STREET: The Trailblazing Women who ran World War One’s Most Remarkable Military Hospital

  • Sarah Paterson, curator First World War and Early 20th Century, Imperial War Museum, on Dr Flora Murray and the Women’s Work Collection

  • DJ McDowall, Creative Director, The Imaginarium / LGBTQ+ Activist / Producer of StoryTrails: Dumfries’ Augmented Reality app, featuring Dr Flora Murray.

Attendees can participate in this online tribute to the life of Dr Flora Murray, a remarkable woman who remains an inspiration to this day, on Tuesday 14 March 2023 from 6.30 to 8.30pm. Places are limited and can be booked now to learn more about this pioneering suffragette, surgeon, and daughter of Dumfries.
