taking a fresh look at how we (re)view the past, and it’s impact on our future.

Exploring fresh perspectives on our past, the politics of its recovery, investigating our role and responsibilities now around preserving & sharing our present for future generations.

We invite our Community Co-Curators to consider . . .

  • What and whose stories matter ?

  • What and whose stories are underrepresented ?

  • What stories do we want to preserve + share to inform the future ?

  • What and whose stories are missing ?

  • What’s not there? why is it not there / missing ?

  • What artefacts make these stories tangible ?

  • What objects / artefacts do we wish we had ?

  • What objects / artefacts do we want to collect, or not ?

Community Curators.

The Missing Museum presents you, as Curators, with an opportunity to enter our Museum Without Walls. Inviting you to engage with our cultural heritage based storytelling, noticing what is absent - redressing the stories that are missing and the people who are under represented.

It is time to bridge the gaps in our shared local histories.

It is your role as Community Curators to make sure our collections host more honest representations, and create the space for inserting the omissions.

Once you don your top hat, smooth out your ‘tache, and put on your handling gloves, what changes will you make to redress the imbalances?

Immersive Learning Experience.

For a variety of reasons history is often written with an agenda, to help shore up power and a specific narrative, which results in misrepresentation and omission.

Help us Re:Dress this imbalance, Re:Claim the Narratives that have been neglected, discover new stories and unsung heroes, whilst unpacking the importance of history in our lives.

How do we put back the misattributed, misappropriated achievements?

Acknowledging the everyday people and unsung heroes and their achievements across the ages. On behalf of all those people who’s voices are lost, silenced or still go unheard, we invite you to enter The Missing Museum, and help us Reclaim and Re:Present those narratives . . .
