International Collaboration

Today brought about a super unexpected yet fortuitous meeting with Dr Jen Marchbank, Professor of Gender, Sexuality & Gender Studies at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, Canada. Although having been based in Canada for many years, Jen is originally from Dumfries & Galloway.

Jen is a life long LGBTQ+ activist and was so delighted to see a queer exhibition in her local home area, with conversations beginning regarding an international LGBTQ+ Archive collaboration which will see her support me in the delivery of our newly created LGBT+ Archive for Dumfries & Galloway, in which Jen will need to feature, she has many wonderful stories to share of Queer D&G.

Jen also left with all the necessary information and links to allow her to integrate Flora into her course delivery back in Canada - Flora is about to become quite the international celebrity! fair to say our visibility raising on our Flora just took to new heights… this journey keeps getting better and better!
